For a TC22/TC27 migration where a slim touchscreen device and standard-range barcode capture fit the job, evaluate the Datalogic Memor 12/17 family. Choose Memor 12 for work covered by Wi-Fi, or Memor 17 when the operator needs cellular connectivity. IOR also leads with Urovo handhelds in its wider range; Memor provides a premium Datalogic route for buyers considering that platform.

Scanning and charging

Test the Memor with the labels, phone screens and scan distances used on site. Green Spot provides visual read confirmation. An existing TC22/TC27 fitted with an SE55 advanced-range engine has different working-distance capabilities from a standard-range Memor 12/17: do not assume an equivalent long-range replacement. For rack scanning, evaluate an extended-range Memor 30X/35X configuration separately.

Wireless charging can simplify daily docking, but the dock and battery must match the ordered configuration. Battery capacity alone does not establish shift runtime. Test a representative application, screen brightness and wireless workload before choosing spare batteries or charging positions.

Migration checks before ordering

Check Android application compatibility, scan-data formatting, enterprise browser use, MDM enrolment and any Zebra-specific APIs. Existing cradles, batteries, trigger handles and vehicle mounts need separate compatibility checks. Confirm regional cellular bands, SIM setup and the exact memory configuration on the quotation.

Software support

Datalogic currently describes the platform as upgradeable to Android 19. That is a platform roadmap, not a statement that every version is available today. Confirm the shipping OS, released upgrades, security-update policy and contracted support term for the exact SKU. Ask for written lifecycle dates rather than relying on launch-era estimates.

Request an evaluation or trade quote

Send IOR the existing TC22/TC27 SKU, application and scan-distance requirements. We can help specify a Memor 12 or Memor 17 evaluation and a phased transition plan. Pricing, availability and accessories are confirmed on quotation.
