CX8 — end of sale

Modular POSEnd of saleEstate support available

The CX8 modular POS terminal is no longer available to order. Existing estates can still be supported while replacement is phased.

The NCR CX8 modular POS terminal is no longer available to order through IO Resource. It is a compact system unit designed to work with separate displays and peripherals, rather than an all-in-one terminal. Conn Loy has confirmed the NCR Voyix VX80 as the current NCR replacement path.

The NCR replacement: VX80

The VX80 keeps the modular, low-profile format used in CX8-class installations while moving the platform forward with Intel Core i3 and i5 14th Gen processor options, DDR5 memory, NVMe storage and extensive powered peripheral connectivity. Final availability and configuration are confirmed when we quote.

Why the modular format matters

A modular terminal lets the system unit sit on, under or away from the counter while the operator and customer displays are positioned independently. That makes the VX80 the closer architectural fit for CX8 estates than an all-in-one model.

Before you migrate — four checks

  1. Displays and mounting: confirm the display models, stand or pole arrangement, VESA pattern and cable reach at each counter.
  2. Peripherals: record printers, scanners, cash drawers and payment devices, including their USB, powered USB or serial interfaces.
  3. Software image: have the POS software provider confirm the operating system, drivers and application image before the first unit ships.
  4. Rollout: validate one complete lane before a phased estate replacement; IO Resource can configure and stage the agreed build.

Keeping existing CX8 units running

Where a full refresh is not yet practical, ask us about spares, repairs and a phased migration plan. We have supplied and supported NCR hardware since 2002.

Request a trade quote and we will map the VX80 configuration against your current CX8 estate, including displays, peripherals, staging and rollout quantities.
